Thankful Thursday–Craft

Thankful Thursday--Craft

I finally am going to post a picture with one of these letter crafts! Wow! Amazed, shocked, stunned, taken aback? I kind of am! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now here comes the sad part….I can’t remember if I already mentioned the Letter C…and I could possibly be too lazy to look back to see if I have. ๐Ÿ™‚

SO, the Letter C. We used a cork and dipped it in paint to use as a stamp. As we corked our little paint spots on we tried to have a conversation on the letter C. Basically it came down to my little one not caring and focusing on painting. She throws up an imaginary ‘Do not disturb’ sign in her mind. You can’t see my C that I drew on with the marker too well, but you also don’t have to use black…colors were child’s choice! I enjoyed watching her do this, she eventually got to where she wanted to lay the cork flat and see what it would produce that way. Let their imagination take over, let them create, let them figure it out.

Be thankful for that beautiful work of art trying to make art right in front of you!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wordy Wednesday

Wordy Wednesday

My competitiveness kicks in full gear, my own drive slams myself into a wall of “impossible”. I love what Audrey Hepburn said, “Even in impossible it says ‘I’m possible’.” This is what comes to my mind when I think of others, but also the lies or voices that try to drag you down. The excuses we try to mask or allow in.
Like most of my sayings I put them with whatever activities I’m doing but I also can associate them with life.
I myself may have unrealistic goals…I see someone singing opera and I automatically think I can do that, and just as good as them. Why can’t I run a 5k in 20 minutes even though I just started running? Why can’t I take the best pictures compared to the girl whose been modeling for a decade. My brain doesn’t compute, it just thinks my body/mind/and emotions should be just as up to par.
This could be a double edged sword.

Find what gets you going. I can handle being beat competitively (for the most part) but I can’t handle the thought of life kicking my butt….and you can bet on it….it won’t.

Have a good rest of your day! ๐Ÿ™‚

Little behind on the post front since I was out of town! This is a recipe that I saw on the Doctor Oz show and since then have continued to eat practically every morning for breakfast. It’s super fast, super healthy, and well I like both of those things. Now, don’t get me wrong I have changed or added to this recipe and I will tell you what I do or have done…this is the basic recipe.

You’ll Need: A coffee cup, 1/4 cup ground flax meal, 1 egg, 1/2tsp coconut oil, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp Stevia.

First put your oil into the coffee cup and then add your remaining ingredients. Stir all together and pop in the microwave for 55 seconds to a minute. This literally puffs up and you can eat it out of the coffee mug or put it on a plate.

I no longer use the baking powder, or the stevia and I occasionally will add the cinnamon and oil. In my recipe I add a scoop of protein powder, top if off with almond butter and then drizzle pure maple syrup on top. I do this for extra protein and calories which I tend to need. The basic is truly just as yummy and definitely as filling!

No reason to not start off with a simple and very healthy breakfast. The flax and coconut oil is extremely beneficial and healthy. SO…give it a whirl! Enjoy your Tuesday and the days to follow! ๐Ÿ™‚

Freedom Friday–Friends

Freedom Friday--Friends

I’ve got to put our goofy picture because I get so tickled that we have so much fun. I’m fortunate that my husband is my good friend. If you come into our home watch out, we may have a wet rag fight (we usually don’t in front of company). We laugh at each others completely corny jokes and we laugh when we get on each others nerves (sometimes). I appreciate his hard work and efforts he puts forth for his family and I appreciate what an amazing father he is. I’ll leave this friend today for a few days and take a visit to the GIRLFRIENDS!

Nothing says friends like your close “gal pals”. The kind that you remember laughing until you cry. Pulling innocent pranks, trying your first “beer” together, and sneaking out of each other homes. The kind that you’ve been able to cry to uncontrollably and they just hold you. The ones that have told you when you were being a jerk and weren’t afraid if that bothered you. The friends that you have so many different experiences with, that when you think of the memories you can just laugh out loud.

I’m a gal who has high expectations not just with herself but with others. I’m not afraid to drop someone if they’ve turned into a person I can no longer trust. I am loyal 100% and I’m so GRATEFUL and appreciative of these friends and my husband that are as well.

It’s Freedom Friday and to all my friends that I’m not going to visit directly….THANK YOU! I’m a complete pain no doubt, but I’m pretty fun in the meantime ;).

Everyone let your friends or loved ones know you appreciate them…it’s always nice to hear ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great Friday!

Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

As I type this and my little one who is supposed to be taking a nap and ISN’T who is trying to sing the song of the Magic School Bus, my heart surges with joy.

Don’t get me wrong, there are days I want to run and keep running, or I just want to tell them, “okay mommy is going back to bed, y’all take care of it yourself”. I don’t feel bad about this anymore–I feel it’s completely normal. (OBVIOUSLY I don’t DO that but…)

I’m THAT mom! The mom that is probably too protective, the mom who will make herself look like a complete nut to make them laugh, the one who will kill you in an instant if you mess with my girls, the one who sings at the top of her lungs and dances with them, the one who apologies after raising her voice, the one who will go to her room and close the door if she thinks she’s going to “lose it”. I’m that and more. More than anything I’m the one who tries everyday her absolute best to be the mother that my children will want to be. I love with no expectations back, I let them know it’s okay to be sad/mad/happy-teaching them to be responsible for their emotions. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of them and how I can improve.

Like any normal person I like to think there are days that it’s so rough just crying in the tub sounds great. Then there are days so beautiful/perfect that just crying in the tub is inevitable. ๐Ÿ™‚

All we can do is our very best. Like I’ve said, we our their EVERYTHING, their examples, their role models, their icons, their love and their future.

We’ve had a busy week so I don’t have a craft to post, but hope to next time.

When I feel discouraged I try to remember when my oldest looked at me and told me I was special like her. She’s right you know….we should all know we are special and we should ALWAYS let them know they are!!

I’m thankful this Thursday for so many many many things…I hope you are as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today you are y…

Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!

Dr. Seuss

People rarely like to hear the quiet, people rarely want to hear themselves think. Afraid what you might find when it’s quiet? What you may have to say? Have to constantly listen to music, have something on TV, hang with your friends….to be alone…is lonely.

We forget-get so absorbed in ourselves and our lives that we forget there is just OURSELF. Everything and anything can be stripped away from you in a second, make sure you’re good with yourself.

We forget because we are in a society where we have public figures, sports icons etc. that we forget that we are our own person. WE each have our OWN agenda. WE need to remember that weย CAN set out to do great things–even if it’s as small as kindness or as big as making a huge difference in the world. WE have a purpose. Don’t waste it on trying to be someone else. Don’t waste your purpose on worrying what others will think of you, don’t waste your purpose or time berating yourself on what you aren’t doing that someone else is. Introduce yourself to you, figure out your purpose, even if it’s simply just to be. Be you.

YOU are YOU, nobody else…it’s true ;).

Tasty Tuesday–CK Strips

Chicken Licken’ good! This is one of my favorite ways to cook chicken. This way is easy and also full of flavor. You’ll need a minimal amount of seasonings which is something else that works in this recipes favor.

You’ll Need: 1/2 tsp salt, 1TBL season salt, 3/4 tsp pepper, 1C flour, 2tsp paprika.1/2 stickย butter, 3-4 Chicken Breasts, milk, and 9×13 pan.

Pre-Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Cut up the butter and put it in the pan (I use less butter but this is what recipe calls for).ย Grab the milk and pour it into a large bowl (enough to cover your chicken, start with cup). Cut your chicken into strips and put them in the bowl letting them soak for about 20-30 minutes. Make sure your butter melts in the pan but doesn’t burn. Mix all your seasoning together and put in a little grocery bag (like what you place your vegetables in).

After the chicken has soaked take it out and put about half of it in the seasoned bag…shake it all around until it covers the chicken and then lay it in the pan. Do the same to the rest of the chicken. Let it bake for 20 minutes and then turn over and cook for another 15-20 minutes.
