This is my moms recipe and one of my many favorite dishes that she prepares .This recipe makes the turkey so tasty and not to mention the texture alone is moist,  juicy almost, and oh so tender. All I can say is YUM. The other great thing about cooking it this way is how SUPER easy it is. Always my three favorite things….Easy, Healthy, and Tasty.


1 10pd turkey (size your choice), 1 cup Teriyaki Sauce, 1 jar of pure Apricot Preserves (Shmuckers or any other that are just fruit not sugar), large baking sheet, foil.

The night or day before you are going to cook your turkey, cut your turkey in a way that it can all fit on your baking sheet (legs, breast, thighs). Prepare your sauce in a large bowl and marinate your turkey overnight.

The next day when you are ready to prepare it, preheat your oven to 325 degrees. I suggest laying parchment paper or foil down on your baking sheet so that it helps keep it clean. Lay your turkey down on the baking sheet and then pour the marinade over the turkey. Cover the turkey with foil. Place in the oven and let it cook for about an hour and half. Then uncover the foil from the turkey and let it cook for a remaining 30 minutes.

NOW, you can flip the turkey about every 30 minutes or so that it glazes the turkey and gives it a nice color and more flavor. If you’re short on time, you can just cook it and not bother to flip it. We have done both ways, they are both very tasty but flipping it a few times does give more flavor and makes it a beautiful presentation.

I am NOT a turkey girl, but I will fix and eat this often especially for holidays or a large gathering because it is that good!! Hope y’all enjoy as much as I do!
