Pear Tart with Cinnamon and Cream-Tasty Tuesday


Wow, is this recipe delicious! Literally, it’s easy to eat in one sitting, so BEWARE. My deep love for Fall and food coincide with this dish. It’s absolutely scrumptious, filling, and nutritious so I better hear some great feedback ;).

You’ll Need:

1.5 cups finely ground nuts (Walnuts, Almonds, Pine Nuts) I use Almonds
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
2 Tbl rapadura (or stevia) I use Maple Syrup
5 Tbls butter
5-6 soft pears, peeled and sliced thin
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground clove
1/4 cup sweetner (rapadura, maple syrup etc)
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup quality cream
1 egg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees:
1. I put all the nuts, salt, sweetner and butter along with the spices into a food processor until ground and mixed well. Take out and smooth the mixture into the bottom of the dish, spread evenly.

2. Lay the pears on top of the crust and sprinkle with just a little more cinnamon and nutmeg (just a touch) and drizzle the pure maple syrup or some of the sweetner.

3. In another bowl, whisk together cram and egg until combined. Pour the mixture over the pears, moving the pears a little to make sure the mixture has spread well.

4. Put in the oven for approximately 30 minutes or until it’s browned and the cream mixture has set. You’ll definitely smell it!
